I would like to welcome you to USD 273 - Beloit Public Schools. Beloit Public Schools have a rich tradition of both academic and athletic success! The success in the Beloit Public Schools can be accounted for by our strong family-oriented community and our commitment to excellence in education. As a whole, Beloit Public Schools is committed to its mission of cooperatively promoting life-long learning, to awaken, develop and enhance individual potential.
The Beloit school district covers over 565 square miles in North Central Kansas where it also acts as the host district for our area's special education cooperative and the Mitchell County Partnership for Children (MCPC). We have one K - 6 elementary school that currently serves approximately 450 students and one Junior/Senior High School for grades 7 - 12 that currently serves approximately 375 students. We are fortunate to have a dedicated school board comprised of several community business leaders that include three bankers, a farmer, a contractor, a retailer and a family health care specialist.
The Beloit Special Education Cooperative includes the additional school districts of Lincoln, Rock Hills, Sylvan/Lucas and Waconda, with a service area of over 2,582 square miles and over 2,000 students. The MCPC partnership serves all of the school children who reside in our special education cooperative's service area and includes children who attend the Beloit parochial schools.
Students experience a personalized environment due to a reasonable student to teacher ratio, and also benefit from comprehensive course offerings, a fully implemented 1:1 Chromebook initiative in the high school, quality facilities and a wide-range of co-curricular activities. We are committed to striving for the highest level of excellence.
USD 273 – Beloit Schools are a great place to be! I encourage and welcome you to visit with us about our school district. I want to thank everyone for your continued support of our students, staff, and faculty.
